Holiday House Decorating Contest

The Lititz Springs Park is excited to announce the first annual Holiday House Decorating Contest, hosted by Laurel Avenue Lights. After the success of the July 4th House Decorating Contest and given the current measures in place for social distancing, this is one community event that can be safely hosted at this time.

We invite anyone in the 17543 zip code to register as a decorated house between November 1- 25th to be included in the voting. Interested in participating? Here are some important details to remember:

 

Registration open to participate: Nov. 1-25

Houses Decorated by and Voting Begins: December 11th

Voting closes: December 24th at midnight

Winner Announced: December 26th

 

For this contest, there will be 1 Best Overall winner who will be presented with a festive surprise along with a winner sticker to go on their sign on December 26th.

There are no categories or rules for decorating, but we ask participants to keep their displays family-friendly and festive - this is not the place for political statements or anything controversial. LSP reserves the right to remove homes from the contest if decorations are inappropriate or offensive. There is, however, room for lots of creativity in colors, lights, music, greenery, and any other special touches that you can imagine! Everything from traditional to whimsical is welcome! Participants should also consider how the decorations will look during the day and at night. We anticipate that most visits and voting will take place during evenings so your home should be best viewed at night.

 

By participating in this contest, you consent to allow Lititz Springs Park to release your address so that residents and visitors may drive, park, or walk past your home to observe your display (no names of residents will be shared during the voting period). Pictures of participating homes may be shared on the LSP website and Facebook page, as well as photos and names of the winners and/or winning home. If you do not wish to give your consent for photos, there will be a chance to opt-out on the registration form.

 

As a participant, you must purchase a large Christmas in Lititz yard sign with your participant number on it. The cost is $35 and there will be a link on the registration form to purchase a participant sign. All numbered participant signs should be displayed and easy to view for the duration of the voting period. The participant signs are approximately 22” x 28”.
